![]() I'm not familiar with the T-Maxx, but check your slipper pad if that has not been mentioned. So, given all of that, what should I do next to get this thing running properly? Once the motor fires the first time, then the ezstart seems to be able to handle turning the engine over. After that, the ezstart seems to turn the engine 1 or 2 rotations before the ezstart motor spins feely again. I end up adding a drop of fuel into the piston hole and reinstalling the glow plug. If I remove the glow plug, it spins the engine fine. When using the easy start - the EZStart motor spins but the engine does not. I cleaned all of the debris out and re-greased it.Īt this point, I’m waiting on the gear to arrive so I can reinstall the transmission and see if it will move.Īssuming that the gear is all that’s wrong, the main issue that I still have is starting it – and maybe this is related to the transmission. I opened the transmission and found that one of the gears was mostly stripped. When I turned them both in the same direction, I could hear gears grinding in the transmission. If I spun one, the other would turn the opposite direction. I tried rolling it forward and the wheels were locked up. After replacing it, the truck wouldn’t move. Once I got the idle worked out, I found that the spur gear had gotten stripped – It must have happened while I was bench testing things. ![]() once running – I ended up with a pool of engine sludge. There was smoke coming from the glow plug - there was no glow-plug gasket – I installed one.I found that the fuel tank o-ring wasn’t tight and fixed it so I don’t think I have any more air leaks.I was able to drive it around for a few minutes After manually priming, and much effort, I was able to get it to run, though the idle speed seemed to be out of control and getting faster and faster.I used the EZStart on it without the glow plug installed and let it get lubed up pretty well. I was able to move the flywheel with a screwdriver and add some WD40 to the piston and get it loose. The engine has been upgraded to an OS MAX.So here's what I've encountered thus far: I am pretty handy and can figure things out pretty well, but haven't ever messed with RC cars or nitro engines. I was recently given a used Traxxas Revo 3.3 to fix and sell for my buddy (though I'd really like to buy it from him if I can get it running well). Sorry for the rambling - just wanted to get all the details out there.
